NEW Regional Advisory Chair Marla Thompson specializes in building brands. She joined Catalina in 2002 and now serves as senior vice president, U.S. strategy. In this role, she drives strategic alignment among sales, marketing, product, technology and operations, ensuring that Catalina is positioned to help marketing leaders address their brand’s needs today and in the future. She previously led Catalina’s mobile and online teams globally, with full P&L responsibility, integrating a large acquisition into the organization and launching new products across the globe. Earlier in her career at Catalina, she and her team represented clients with U.S. revenues in excess of $65 billion. Her enthusiasm for innovation and creativity allowed her to develop several new products, such as a loyalty initiative that incorporated one client’s entire portfolio of brands, delivering a 300-percent ROI. Prior to Catalina, Thompson worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble and Campbell Soup Company. She built c-level management teams as an executive recruiter for Russell Reynolds Associates and developed conglomerate strategies at WPP for the WPP holding company. Thompson received her bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and her master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School. She completed three terms on the board of directors for the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago.
